LASALLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -

An 82-year-old woman missing for nearly 24 hours has been rescued from a Monroe County marsh where she had gotten tangled up in some tall invasive grasses and fallen in the water.
WDIV-TV reports a helicopter pilot and flight officer spotted Mary Fletcher on Friday night behind Lighthouse Harbor Marina.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says Fletcher was suffering from hypothermia and injuries from being in the water for a prolonged time.
Authorities began searching for Fletcher Thursday, along with her family and friends. A search team made up of Michigan State Police, U.S. Border Patrol, the LaSalle Township Fire Department and sheriff's deputies joined the search around 4 p.m. Friday.
The thick wetland grasses where Fletcher became tangled are known as phragmites and can grow up to 18 feet tall.
