A Detroit judge has ordered a mental evaluation for a Detroit man charged in last year's fatal shooting of a Wayne State University police officer.
First-degree murder and other charges were announced Thursday against Durham in the Nov. 22 slaying of officer Collin Rose, who was investigating possible thefts from cars near the Wayne State campus.
Durham became a suspect in Rose's death after two Detroit officers were wounded during a confrontation in March. He was charged with attempted murder in the March shootings, but later found incompetent to stand trial.
A competency hearing was held Thursday in those shootings, and Durham for the second time was found incompetent to stand trial.
