ISABELLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Authorities say a short police pursuit ended when the suspect crashed his vehicle.

Deputies responded about 10:33 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29 to the 3000 block of West Bawkey Road in Isabella County for a domestic call.

Police said when deputies arrived they saw a 21-year-old man from Farwell climb out of a bedroom window and take off running on foot.

The deputies were unable to find the man as he fled the home. They stayed in the area and continued to search for the suspect.

Eventually, a deputy spotted a 2005 Buick LaCrosse that was owned by the suspect at a nearby intersection, police said. However, when the deputy tried to stop the car, the driver allegedly fled for a short distance before he crashed.

During the crash the car rolled, police said.

The deputy found the man unconscious in the vehicle. The deputy had to break the window to gain access to the driver. When he did that, the driver woke up and unlocked the door.

He was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The deputy had minor cuts and bruises from trying to break the window. He was also treated at a local hospital.

The Farwell man was treated and later arrested. His name has not been released.
