The Upper Peninsula will be open to antlerless hunting and an even bigger harvest is expected in the northern Lower Peninsula.

A few safety tips from the DNR:

  • Treat every firearm as if it is loaded
  • Keep the safety on until you are ready to fire.
  • Be certain of your target, and what's beyond it, before firing
  • Wear gear to ensure you are visible from all sides during daylight hunting hours
  • Let someone know where you will be in case of an injury or getting lost
