General Motors has unveiled their next generation of Chevrolet Silverado trucks as part of an event that celebrated 100 years of Chevy trucks.

The event took place at the Texas Motor Speedway in Dallas on Dec. 16 with many of the truck’s most passionate owners.

The new truck was flown in by helicopter into the stadium.

“Our owners’ passion for Chevrolet trucks is truly humbling,” said Alan Batey, president of GM North America and global head of Chevrolet. “Many of our owners depend on their trucks for work and play, personalize their trucks in astonishing ways and pass their loyalty for Chevy trucks down from generation to generation.”

The 2019 Silverado 1500 was built with the feedback of more than 7,000 people based on what they were looking for in the next Chevy truck.

GM said the new Silverado will feature a higher-grade alloy in the roll-formed, high strength-steel bed floor, which will make the bed more functional and a lighter weight.

The company also said the truck will have a reduced total vehicle weight and improved performance thanks to the use of mixed materials and advanced manufacturing.

Drivers will have an array of options for their next-gen vehicle has the truck offers a range of models, more engine/transmission combinations, and more technology and convenience features for their ideal truck.

The 2019 Silverado will make its public debut in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
