K-9 tracks down man accused of driving stolen pickup

CLARE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A Farwell man has been arrested, accused of driving a stolen truck.

The Clare County Sheriff’s Office said that on Jan. 26, deputies saw a red GMC Sonoma pickup, that had been reported stolen from Farwell, driving on Old State Avenue in Clare County’s Lincoln Township.

Deputies followed the vehicle until it pulled into a driveway on Old State Avenue where the driver got out and ran into the woods.

A K-9 officer was called to the scene and was able to find the driver, 25-year-old Joel Bauer of Farwell.

He was arrested, and arraigned on the following charges: Motor Vehicle – Unlawful Driving Away / Stolen Property – Receiving and Concealing O/ $1,000 / Police Officer – Assault, Resist, Obstruct / Habitual Offender 4th and Breaking & Entering – Illegal Entry.
