HOUSTON (WNEM) -

Seven sexual assault survivors of former sports doctor Larry Nassar have filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Grand Rapids.

The women, who range in age from 14 to 41, claim in the lawsuit they were sexually molested by Nassar while he was employed as the USA Team Gymnastics doctor and as a MSU team doctor.

In the suit, the women allege Nassar molested the women under the guise of medical treatment. They describe what Nassar did during the course of his “treatments,” including inserting his ungloved fingers into their vaginas.

The lawsuit also alleges USA Gymnastics failed to reveal the abuse to the victims’ families, the U.S. Olympic Committee, Michigan State University and law enforcement.

“The trauma these women have suffered as a result of the sexual abuse and assaults has only been made worse by the failure of these institutions to take meaningful responsibility for what happened to these young girls on their watch,” said victims’ attorney James White.

The victims will be present at a press conference April 19 at 12 p.m. (CST) in Houston, Texas.
