SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

A local family is pleading with the public to come forward with information regarding the death of their loved one.

Ryan Roberson, 27, was killed last year and police have no leads as to who may be responsible.

Friends and family held a vigil Thursday night in his memory hoping it would encourage someone to speak up.

“It’s been hell. It’s been hell,” said Tocquien Roberson, mother. “When I got that call and they said my son was dead, it’s like I died on the inside.”

Ryan Roberson was murdered on S. Mason Street in Saginaw one year ago. His killer has not been caught.

“Police can look into it as hard as they can, but if nobody is speaking up it’s always going to be a dead end,” said Natasha Webb, sister.

Ryan Roberson’s family gathered to share prayer and memories of the father of five.

As his kids released balloons in honor of their dad, Ryan’s mom hopes somebody will come forward with any information on who killed her only son.

“How would you feel? People have to break this code of the streets, don’t tell,” she said.

She has a message for the person who did it.

“God can put a whoopin’ on you better than any man in this world can. And that’s what I’ve done. I have given it to God,” she said.

She believes she will get her answers and closure.

If you have any information on this case you are asked to call Saginaw police.
