A former Michigan State University football player is facing more legal problems today, after already facing sexual assault charges in Ingham County.

Auston Robertson, 19, was arrested on Tuesday in Garden City, Kansas. He’s facing multiple charges there as well.

Garden City Police in Kansas said they responded to a local bar for armed robbery Monday night. Then on Tuesday, Robertson faced four charges including armed with a dangerous weapon, aggravated robbery, distributing marijuana, and interference with a police officer.

In April of last year, Robertson was kicked off the MSU football team for third degree criminal sexual assault charges.

Police said he raped a woman in her apartment near campus. This was not Robertson's first offense. He also had legal issues back in 2015 for a resisting arrest charge.

However, Garden City Police said their search for Robertson earlier this week was not what they expected.

“On Tuesday April 17th at about 10:30am, Auston Robertson did turn himself in to the law enforcement center here and was arrested,” said Garden City Police Captain Randy Ralston. “As far as what charges are filed, that would be up to our County Attorney's Office to see what charges they file."

Robertson's bond was revoked Thursday in a Lansing court room. One of the provisions of his bond was to refrain from criminal activity.

He moved to Kansas and played football at a local community college, which is why he left Michigan.

The Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office said they believe the courts are taking the right steps to deal with this issue.
