OAKLAND COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A semi-truck driver has been charged with reckless driving after crashing into a Michigan dentist office.

Robert Eckola, 52, of Oxford, was arraigned on one charge of reckless driving.

Investigators said Eckola was driving a commercial semi-truck trailer at about 1:17 p.m. Thursday, April 26 when he crashed into a dentist office building on Main Street near Waldon Road in Clarkston.

The charge carries a penalty of a 93-day misdemeanor.

A judge issued a $2,000 personal bond with a restriction of no driving until he is evaluated by both a medical and eye doctor.

Officials said Eckola has no prior criminal history.
