KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A missing Michigan teen who disappeared after going to look for his dog has been found safe.

Richard Longstreet, age 14, was last seen by his family about 4:30 p.m. Monday at a home in the 6900 block of Owen Drive in Alamo Township.

Michigan State Police said Longstreet went searching for his dog in the wooded area near the home, but never came back. Deputies said they searched the woods late Monday night with thermal imaging cameras but did not find him.

Police said the teen was found safe at school Tuesday morning.

His family told police he is on the mild end of the autism spectrum.
