MID-MICHIGAN (WNEM) -

Congratulations Mid-Michigan, we officially had the coldest or one of the coldest months of April here in Flint and Saginaw.

The month of April was unseasonably cold really from start to finish.

In Flint, April of 2018 is named the coldest April on record by having a mean average temperature of 39.1 degrees.

In Saginaw, April 2018 was named the 2nd coldest April on record with a mean average temperature of 39.0 degrees. Just behind the year of 1950 with an average temperature of 37.9 degrees.

Here’s a look at the list for Flint and Saginaw:

Flint

1) Year 2018. Mean Average temperature: 39.1 degrees.

2) Year 1950. Mean Average temperature: 39.4 degrees.

3) Year 1975. Mean Average temperature: 40.2 degrees.

4 and 5) TIED! Years of 1944 and 1943. Mean Average temperature: 41.3 degrees.

Saginaw

1) Year 1950. Mean Average temperature: 37.9 degrees.

2) Year 2018. Mean Average temperature: 39.0 degrees.

3) Year 1920. Mean Average temperature: 39.2 degrees.

4) Year 1926. Mean Average temperature: 39.4 degrees.

5 and 6) TIED! Years of 1944 and 1943. Mean Average temperature: 40.2 degrees.

We also managed to pick up quite a bit of accumulating snowfall.

Flint had 7.9” of snow through the month of April which is actually the 6th snowiest on record.

Saginaw had 5.5” of accumulating snow.
