SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

Seven people have been cited, accused of shooting paintballs at homes.

Saginaw Police said they were called to Superior Street about 2:40 a.m. on May 3 for reports of houses being hit by paintballs.

After learning a red Ford Explorer was involved, Michigan State Police Troopers spotted the vehicle at Michigan and Court Street.

Officials said nine paintball guns and several hundred paintball rounds were discovered in the Explorer.

All seven people inside were issued appropriate citations and the paintball guns were seized.

Charges of disturbing the peace and possibly others will be sought.

"I'm tired of the kids coming by and paintballing my house," said Lavera Rowan, resident.

She said this isn't the first time it has happened.

"A couple times, but this is the worst," Rowan said.

Her house was not the only one hit Wednesday night. Several homes across Superior Street in Saginaw were struck with paint.

Rowan said she is more concerned this could lead to something bigger.

"I'm asking them to please stop because somebody's child is going to get hurt," Rowan said.

Rowan believes the individuals responsible should receive more than a citation.

"They asked me if I wanted to press charges because some of the kids was 18 years of age. Correct, I am going to press charges," Rowan said.

Although she is not sure if her insurance will cover some of the damages, Rowan said she doesn't plan to take the paint off just yet.

She is going to leave it up to prevent someone from going further.

"The more they paint it, I guess they'll stop eventually," Rowan said.
