MT. PLEASANT, MI (WNEM) -

A Central Michigan University student has died after authorities say he fell down a flight of stairs.

Mt. Pleasant Police were called to the 500 block of S. Main Street on April 29 at 12:43 a.m.

That’s when they found 21-year-old Kevin Ajluni, from Orchard Lake, lying at the bottom of a stairwell. Police said he had a head injury, was unconscious and struggling to breathe.

Police said that Ajluni was at a friend’s home drinking and planning to go out for the night with others. His friends told police when they left for the night, they thought Ajluni had gone home.

One roommate at the home stayed behind and thought he heard snoring. When he investigated, police said he found Ajluni.

The CMU student died on May 3 at the hospital. There was no evidence of foul play, police said.

Investigators are still waiting for a medical examiner’s results to determine his blood-alcohol level, among other things.
