Shooting at apartment complex leaves Saginaw man dead

SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

One Saginaw resident is dead after police responded to a shot fired at an apartment complex.

On Saturday, May 5 at 3 a.m., Saginaw police officers were sent to the 3000 block of the Birch Park apartment complex where police said a man was shot at.

When officers and MMR arrived, they found one man with a gunshot wound.

Responders administered medical care, but he died at the scene.

The victim was identified as Jermaine Boose, a 23-year-old man from the city of Saginaw.

An autopsy is scheduled for a later date.

Detectives are interviewing witnesses and developing a suspect or suspects. 

The Major Crimes Unit consisting of Saginaw Police, Michigan State Police detectives, and The Michigan Department of Corrections are investigating this incident as a homicide.
