Clare man sentenced up to 12 years for possession of meth

CLARE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

The Clare County Sheriff’s Office said a man was sentenced to a maximum of 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to possession of meth.

Kerry Joseph Eckler, a 33-year-old man from Clare, plead guilty to possession of methamphetamine and a controlled substance on June 21, 2017.

Eckler was sentenced on May 7 by Judge Mienk to serve 3 to 10 years on two charges of possession of methamphetamine and one to two years on the possession of controlled substance charge for a maximum of 12 years.

The defendant was also ordered to pay $206 in state costs, $160 in crime victim rights fees, $300 court costs, $200 fines, and $500 court-appointed attorney fees.
