MACOMB COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A search by police and the FBI in Michigan may be related to a missing person case from nearly 40 years ago.

The Detroit Free Press reports officials are combing the area where Arthur Ream buried the body of 13-year-old Cindy Zarzycki in 1986.

Authorities said Ream, now 68, tricked his teenage victim by telling her he was planning a surprise party for his son. Ream is a convicted pedophile and led police to Cindy’s body.

He was sentenced to life in prison for the crime back in 2008.

Now, some suspect the area near 23 Mile Road and North Avenue could be a gravesite for another teen in a cold case. Kimberly King, 12, of Warren vanished in 1979. Warren Mayor Jim Fouts said the search "involves something from many years ago and more than one person."

The search is expected to resume Tuesday.
