GRAND TRAVERSE, Mich. (WNEM) -

Authorities are warning the public about several methamphetamine dump sites found in northern Michigan.

The Traverse Narcotics Team (TNT) said chemicals, components, and apparatus used in making meth have been found in wooded areas and on seasonal roads.

“TNT would like to remind the public to be cautious when participating in outdoor activities in areas such as these. If you find suspicious looking bottles, chemicals or garbage, do not pick them up or move them, as these items contain caustic chemicals that can be hazardous to your health and which may still be reactive,” according to a press release.

Anyone who may see something suspicious while outdoors is asked to contact local law enforcement agencies to report the activity.
