Motorcyclist dead after hitting deer, ran over by oncoming car

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

Deputies are investigating a fatal crash in which a motorcyclist hit a deer and was then struck by an oncoming vehicle.

On Thursday, May 10 at 11:49 p.m., Clare County Central Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call about a vehicle vs motorcyclist crash on East Arnold Lake Road, near North Rodgers Avenue in Hamilton Township.

Clare County deputies said Mark Loffredo, a 59-year-old man from Harrison, was westbound on Arnold Lake Road riding his 2007 Yamaha motorcycle when he was struck by a white-tailed deer.

Deputies learned that a 2003 Chevrolet Impala, driven by 36-year-old Terry Carter from Marison, was also westbound on Arnold Lake Road and ran over Loffredo.

Loffredo was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries.

The accident is still under investigation.
