Park gets a tune-up before music festival

Posted: Updated:

A popular park got some love on Friday ahead of an outdoor music festival.

Volunteers were out at Wenonah Park in Bay City picking up trash and sprucing up the grounds.

Next month, the park will transform into a live outdoor concert venue for the Riverscene Indie Music Festival from June 1-3.

One of the organizers of the Riverscene festival came out to volunteer on Friday. Brandon DeFrain said it was about more than just picking up ahead of the festival, "We want to do our part to chip in," he said. "I mean, it's a beautiful community park and I think it's something everybody can enjoy."
