Power restored to thousands, schools delayed in Midland County

MIDLAND COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Thousands in Midland County that were without power Tuesday morning after strong thunderstorms moved through the area overnight have had their power restored.

Consumers Energy reported 1,190 customers without power in Midland County at around 6 a.m.

By 10:30 a.m. those power had been restored.

The outage did impact schools in the area.

Calvary Baptist Academy opened at 10 a.m. due to the outage. Hidden Treasures Pre-School is also opening late at 12 p.m. There is no AM pre-school.

Midland Christian School will be closed Tuesday due to the outage.
