Michigan woman calls 9-1-1, says she killed her boyfriend

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A Michigan woman has been arrested after she allegedly called 9-1-1 to report she killed her boyfriend. 

The shooting happened about 11:51 p.m. on the 600 block of Lydia Lane in the city of Pontiac.

Investigators said 34-year-old Marita Glynise Talley called 9-1-1 and said she shot her boyfriend and that he was dead on the couch. Talley told dispatchers the gun was still in the house and she would be waiting outside for deputies to arrive.

When deputies arrived, they took Talley into custody.

They also searched the home and found 36-year-old William Spencer Bell dead on the couch and multiple spent shell casings within a short distance from his body. A semi-automatic handgun was located lying on the couch next to Bell. 

Police said both Bell and Talley lived in the home together.

Talley was arraigned Tuesday, May 15 on the following charges:

  • Ct 1: Homicide-Murder First Degree-Premeditated - Life Felony
  • Ct 2: Possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony- 2 year felony
  • Ct 3: Weapons-Firearm-Possession by a felon- 5year felony
  • Ct 4: Possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony- 2 year felony

Investigators said Talley has a prior criminal history in both Michigan and Chicago.
