SANILAC COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Authorities say a man crawled to a nearby home and shouted for help after he rolled his pickup truck.

Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office said central dispatch received a call about 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, May 16 from a person on the 7000 block of Lincoln Street in Brown City reporting they could hear a man yelling for help.

While deputies were canvassing the area, a passerby found a vehicle lying in the ditch on Maple Valley Road north of Wilcox Road.

Investigators found a 25-year-old Brown City man was southbound on Maple Valley Road when he lost control of his 1997 GMC pickup.

The truck entered a ditch on the east side of the road and rolled, landing on its side.

The driver was thrown from the pickup. He crawled to a nearby house and began yelling for help, police said.

The man was taken to Marlette Hospital by ambulance. His condition is unknown.

Investigators said the man was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

The man’s name is being withheld pending charges, the sheriff’s department said.
