GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

A man and woman were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after a crash involving a motorcycle.

It happened about 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, May 16 on Maple Avenue and Howe Road in Grand Blanc Township.

Investigators said a 2013 Yamaha motorcycle was heading southbound on Howe Road when it entered the intersection and was hit by an eastbound 2007 Ford Taurus.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 24-year-old man, and his passenger, a 35-year-old woman, were taken to Hurley Medical Center with serious injuries.

The driver of the Ford, a 60-year-old Flint woman, was not hurt.

Evidence at the scene found the motorcycle failed to stop at the stop sign before entering the intersection, according to police.

Investigators said speed and alcohol also appear to be contributing factors.

The crash remains under investigation.
