Pasta sauce sold at ALDI stores recalled for possible undeclared allergens

MICHIGAN, (WNEM) -

Pasta sauce sold in Michigan is being pulled from the shelf for safety reasons.

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration announced Thursday, May 17 that BLM Prod.-u. Vertriebsges. mbH & Co. KG, is voluntarily recalling Priano Rosso Pesto Sauce as it may contain undeclared milk and egg.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk and egg run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product, the FDA said.

The pasta sauce was sold at ALDI stores across Michigan.

The affected product was packaged in a 6.70 oz. glass jar with a multicolored printed paper label and a twist-off metal lid. The UPC code is 041498147631.The best-by date and lot codes affected are:

The FDA said no illnesses have been reported.

Those who bought the pasta sauce should discard it immediately or return it to their local ALDI store for a full refund.
