Pet care business holds fundraiser for child with brain tumor

Some much-needed help for a local child battling cancer.

An owner of a local pet care business hosted a fundraiser for the youngster.

Braden Miller was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in January of last year.

The owner of Pawsome Fun hosted an event to help raise funds for medical expenses.

Our fur babies just like us need some beauty treatments from time to time.

If you’re in the Chesaning area, Jordan Fisher of Pawsome Fun is just the person to see for that.

But today she mixed her pet business with a good cause.

“Doing low-cost pet care people tend to enjoy that better than going to the vet and I also do in home care so I’ll go to people’s houses and this is the best way that I can give back to them,” Fisher said.

Back in January, Fisher started traveling to New Lothrop to take care of the Miller family’s dogs.

That’s when she heard their 9-year-old son Braden, often called Buddy, had a rare form of brain cancer called DIPG and the tumor is inoperable.

She just knew she had to do something to help.

“The treatments are just outrageously expensive and they’re just genuinely good people and they deserve it,” Fisher said.

Fisher joined hands, or we should say paws, with the Dudes and Dames 4H group to give back to a family that’s so deserving.

Pierce Vanharen said the event is an easy and fun way for his 4H group to give back to a family that's so deserving.

“It’s kind of hard to believe that somebody so young is going through this,” Pierce said.

Because of Braden’s treatments, the family wasn’t able to make it out.

But Fisher said she has high hopes that for every clipped nail, she’s just one step closer to helping the Millers who are more than worth it.

“Just a decent donation to give to them to give back to them to help with Braden’s treatments hopefully it’s something with a coma,” Fisher said.
