FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

A Flint-based pastor and his business partner accused of using a church to scam money from investors have been indicted on federal charges.

According to court documents, Larry A. Holley, pastor at Abundant Life Ministries International, Inc. and his business partner Patricia E. Gray are charged with conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud, two counts of wire fraud, four counts of mail fraud and four counts of money laundering.

Investigators said Holley would travel to different churches in Michigan and other states to host investment seminars. According to court documents, Holley claims he was raising money for those churches and get investments for his company, Treasure Enterprise.

However, the indictment claims he and Gray would use the money for personal use and to make payments and pay other employees and investors for Abundant Life Church.

The pair also allegedly convinced victims to transfer money from their 401K and IRA accounts.

Both Holley and Gray have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

They appeared in federal court on Monday, May 21 and were released on a $10,000 bond.
