SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

A Mid-Michigan superintendent is stepping down.

The Saginaw Township Board of Education said they regretfully accepted the resignation of Superintendent Douglas Trombley on Monday, May 21.

Trombley has accepted a position with the Bay Arenac ISD as Assistant Director of Instructional Service, the district said.

“Over the past six years, Doug has implemented many initiatives and programs aimed at providing a great learning environment for every student every day. The board greatly appreciates Doug’s service to the Saginaw Township community. While we understand his stepping away from being a superintendent in order to spend more time with him family, we are sorry to see him go,” said Mike Colucci, school board president.

Trombley served the district as superintendent for the last six years.

His last day in Saginaw Township will be Friday, July 27.

The Board of Education said they are already taking steps to find a new superintendent.
