SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

The Catholic Diocese of Saginaw said Deacon Jerome Green has been relieved of his duties as Pastoral Administrator at St. Vincent DePaul, Shepherd.

This comes as Bishop Joseph Cistone acknowledged Deacon Green's request to withdraw his petition for ordination to the priesthood, which was set to happen on June 1, in order to address some unresolved issues.

Those issues happened before Green came to Diocese of Saginaw, according to a statement made by the Diocese.

The Diocese also said Green's faculties to minister as a deacon have been suspended while the matter is pursued, but they don't provide clarification on what those unresolved issues are.

A replacement for proposed priestly assignment would be announced shortly.
