It happened Sunday, May 27 on the 1700 block of Vermont Avenue.

The arrests come after three men tried to kick in the door of a home, according to Lt. Dave Kaiser with Michigan State Police.

Kaiser said the homeowner warned the suspects he had a gun and would use it. One of the suspects shot into the home and the homeowner returned fire.

One of the suspects was hit in the arm. He showed up at a Saginaw hospital and was arrested. The other two fled the scene, but Kaiser said one man was arrested Monday night.

The Saginaw County Prosecutor's Office said Jermonii Devon Perry, 27, and Aaron Shawk Pinkston, 23, were arraigned Wednesday morning on charges of assault with intent to murder, first-degree home invasion, conspiracy to commit first-degree home invasion, felon in possession of a firearm, killing/torturing animals, and five counts of felony firearm.

The third suspect is still at large.

Kaiser said the homeowner’s family was also in the home during the attempted home invasion. They were not hurt.
