MT. PLEASANT, MI (WNEM) -

Two Mid-Michigan teens may face charges after one of the teens was sent to the hospital following a bad reaction to a marijuana cookie.

Public Information Officer Jeff Browne with the Mt. Pleasant Police Department said the incident happened at the beginning of May.

Investigators learned a 16-year-old girl sold a marijuana cookie to a 14-year-old boy at the high school.

The boy ate half of the cookie, and then gave the other half to another 15-year-old girl. Browne said the boy had an “adverse reaction” to the cookie and was taken to the emergency room. That's where he admitted to eating the pot cookie and giving half of it to the other student.

The 16-year-old girl also admitted to police she sold the cookie to the boy for $10, according to Browne.

A report was sent to the prosecutor’s office on the juvenile case of the 14-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl.
