MT. PLEASANT, MI (WNEM) -

A Mt. Pleasant man was arrested after a stabbing Wednesday morning.

It happened about 4:16 a.m. at Mill Pond Park, off of Adams Street in Mt. Pleasant.

Police arrested Baylee Evans, 19, in connection to the stabbing. Police said Evans stabbed a 17-year-old Rosebush man during a fight.

The Rosebush man was bleeding from his abdomen and taken to the hospital for treatment of multiple wounds. He was later transferred to another hospital for his injuries, police said.

He is in stable condition and still receiving treatment.

Police said the stabbing resulted from a fight between two females at the park.

After the stabbing, Evans left the park with one of the females, police said.

Evans was  located at a residence in Union Township and was taken into custody without incident.

Evans has been charged with assault with great bodily harm less than murder, carrying a concealed weapon, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, and simple assault. His bond was set at $30,000.
