A man accused of threatening to shoot up a hospital in Michigan is now charged with terrorism.

The Traverse City Police Department said Brian Adcox called the Munson Medical Center on Saturday. They said he threatened hospital staff and blamed them for things like school shootings.

The hospital then went into lockdown.

Officers traced the call to Adcox, who was living in a tent in Clare.

During his arrest, police found a shot gun. He was taken to jail where he was charged with terrorism.

"I think this is a perfect example of an incident that had a really good ending. It's our close collaboration with law enforcement that makes that possible and we're just so thankful that we have type of collaboration to keep our community safe,” said Dianne Michalek, spokesperson for Munson Medical Center.

The hospital said for any threat they immediately take heightened security measures and work with the police department.

Adcox was recently arrested on a warrant in Clare County and released on bond the day before allegedly making the threats to Munson.
