High swim risk issued for Lake Huron beaches

IOSCO COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

The National Weather Service has issued beach hazard statements for Arenac County, Alcona County and Iosco County until 4 p.m.

A high swim risk means life threatening waves and currents are expected. Stay out of the water and stay away from dangerous areas like piers and breakwalls.

The hazard is used for Lake Huron beaches of northeast and lower Michigan.
