Oscoda Twp PD investigating semi-truck crash, 2 killed

AU SABLE TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

The Oscoda Township Police Department is investigating a crash that involved a semi-truck and killed two people.

At 11:35 a.m. on Friday, June 1, the Oscoda Township Police Department responded to a fatal crash in the 3300 block of US-23 in Au Sable Township.

The police investigation shows that the semi-truck was northbound on US-23 and crossed the centerline into the path of the southbound passenger car.

The driver of the passenger car, a 55-year-old woman from Fenton, died at the scene.

The driver of the semi-truck, a 67-year-old man from Ossineke, was taken to Tawas St. Joseph Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Oscoda Township Police Department was assisted by the Oscoda Township Fire Department, Iosco County Emergency Medical Services, the Oscoda Arca First Responders, and the Michigan State Police Commercial Motor Carrier Division.

The crash is still under investigation.
