A Mid-Michigan man who served in World War II is celebrating his 100th birthday.

Ike Fabela has lived in Saginaw and Flint all his life. He’s spent years as an autoworker after the war, got married and had three children.

To celebrate 100 years on this earth, he asked for 100 birthday cards to hang up in his room at the nursing home.

He’s already received responses from all over the nation!

“I feel great…and thankful!” Fabela said. “Because people I don’t even know said ‘Happy Birthday, Mr. Fabela!’ ‘Happy Birthday, Ike.’”

If you want to send him a birthday card you can send it to:

Ike Fabela
C/O Nick Rodgers
PO Box 3112 Montrose, MI 48457

Ike will officially celebrate his birthday with a party in Montrose this weekend.
