Four men set out to kayak entire shoreline of Lake Superior

Four men are on a four-month mission to navigate the waters of Lake Superior.

The men are 26-year-old Karol Rajski, 26-year-old Drew Etling, 22-year-old Jared Vanoordt and 24-year-old Ryan Busch.

They said the idea to kayak the entire shoreline of the largest of the Great Lakes came together in the summer of 2017.

They spent Tuesday visiting in Sault Ste. Marie and will be heading out Wednesday morning to venture around the Canadian shores of the big lake.

Their mission is to raise awareness of how important it is to conserve and appreciate the pristine waters and landscapes.

The men started May 21 in Marquette, and should be done in September.

“The water, it’s just connecting all of us in so many ways that adding to the health of the economy, to the health of the people, and to the ecosystems involved,” Jared Vanoordt told our affiliates at 9 & 10 News
