BAY COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

The Department of Natural Resources rescued an injured bald eagle in Bay County in May.

The eagle was in a ditch in northern Bay County and was in poor condition, the department said.

Despite the eagle's poor condition, the responding officer said there were astounded by how well the eagle tried to evade capture.

The DNR contacted a local wildlife rehabilitator and the eagle was turned over to her for recovery.
