An Isabella County man made a fascinating discovery while cleaning his shed.

“My hopes is that it reaches its rightful place. It’s definitely not here out by the shed,” Glenn Grossman said.

Grossman moved into his home eight months ago, and just recently rented a shed behind his property.

While cleaning out the previous owner’s belongings, he found a tombstone.

The stone was made for what seems to be an eight-month-old child who died August 19, 1863.

It reads “This is the son of AMA and J. Walton,” but does not give a name for the child.

Now Grossman has made it his mission to find the family to which the stone belongs.

“I had a little ceremony for it, kinda like a little funeral and I don’t know if any spirits come with it or not but I promised the headstone that I would do everything in my power to find out where it belongs. So, I’ve been on a little journey now trying to find. I’ve got hundreds of people online trying to help me look,” Grossman said.
