SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

Another instance of local police making strides to connect with local residents.

Maggie Naylor made a lengthy post in Saginaw’s Neighborhood Watch/News page after she spotted the Saginaw Police Officers playing hoops with some young boys over the weekend.

She said she saw the officers get out of their cars and join in a game of basketball across the street.

After a while, Officer Beyerlein took the boys over to his car and gave them a card, similar to a baseball card, of him and his K9 Mitch.

Naylor said as a joke, she went over and got a card for her 39-year-old son, and in the post commented on how friendly the officers were before they went back to work.
