Man sentenced to prison for murder of Hale man

IOSCO COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A 21-year-old Pontiac man was sentenced to prison for his role in the murder of a Hale man.

Roger Knickerbocker, 72, was found in a shallow grave behind his home on Aug. 10, 2017.

On Monday, June 11, Daniel Olar, 21, was sentenced to 41 to 60 years in prison for his role in Knickerbocker's death, according to Iosco County Circuit Court.

Olar pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in Knickerbocker's death.

A second suspect, Christopher Grinnell, was previously sentenced to 22.5 to 40 years in prison for second-degree murder, the court said.

Grinnell is from Bay City.
