A false story being shared online claims a Muslim waitress refused to seat a group of 27 Christians at a Waffle House in Anbur, Michigan.

Waffle House does not operate any restaurants in Michigan, Pat Warner, a spokesman for Waffle House, told the AP Thursday. There is also no municipality named Anbur in the state.

"It's not a true story," Warner said.

The false story, which first began circulating earlier this year on a satire site, resurfaced online this week on ForFreedomWorld. The story claims a church "decided to do something nice" for the choir and take them to the Waffle House, but when they arrived Muslim waitress Sallah al-Sallah said she could not seat them because it was against her religion.

The false claims prompted Waffle House to respond this week on its official Twitter account.

Attempts to reach ForFreedomWorld were unsuccessful.
