SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

The Saginaw Art Museum was showered with flowers this weekend.

The Saginaw Basin Land Conservancy, Saginaw Art Museum, and volunteers of all ages from the community planted hundreds of flowers and plants in the museum’s new rain garden.

“We were looking over the back and I was like ‘boy I wish I could do something with that piece of land,'” said Zachary Branigan, the executive director of Saginaw Basin Land Conservancy. “And she said ‘boy I’d love to see if we could do something with that piece of land’. The art museum was successful raising money to pay for everything and here we’re doing the work.”

The rain garden features Black-Eyed Susans and several other native midwestern wildflowers.
