TUSCOLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Local law enforcement is warning consumers about fake money making the rounds in Mid-Michigan.

The Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office said fraudulent $100 bills were found on a street in Caro and turned into the sheriff’s office.

The fake bills have pink or purple Chinese lettering on them, and a number of obviously incorrect features.

The department said the fake cash is sold on eBay and other sites for as little as $10 for a pack of 100. The bills are the same size as the real thing, and at a quick glance, they could be mistaken for real money.
