Some Clio residents told to boil water after water main break

Posted: Updated:
CLIO, MI (WNEM) -

The City of Clio has issued a drinking water warning due to a break in an operating water main that resulted in a loss of pressure.

Clio residents that live on Alexander, Palmer, and parts of Field Road should boil their water until tests show that the water is safe to drink.

The City of Clio said that a contractor hit the operating water main while excavating a trench for the installation of a new water main.

That resulted in a break in the operating water main, and the loss of water pressure for people living on those streets.

The break has been repaired, but residents in that area should boil their water for at least one minute, and let it cool, before drinking it, using it to prepare food, or wash clothes.

For more information, contact the city at (810) 686-5850.
