BAY COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

The Bay County Sheriff’s Department does not believe foul play was involved in the death of a man whose body was found in the water in Bangor Township.

Sheriff Troy Cunningham reports the body was found this afternoon near Bay Shore Drive and West Drive in the canal leading to the Kawkawlin River.

The man, believed to be around 76-years-old, lived in the area and had a boat on the water, according to Cunningham.

Preliminary investigation by detectives shows that the man may have fallen off the dock, and been unable to get out of the water.

No foul play is suspected.

The man’s name has not yet been released.
