Local fugitive caught in TX sentenced for skipping while out on bond

ISABELLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A 27-year-old Mid-Michigan fugitive who was extradited to Isabella County after being caught in Texas has been sentenced for skipping out while on bond.

Brandon Watters was wanted in Isabella County for first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

He was found in Texas and brought back.

He has since been sentenced to 68 days in jail, while being given credit for 68 days served, for absconding bond. He has also been placed on probation for 3 years and ordered to pay $1,926 in restitution to the prosecutor’s office.

A settlement conference is scheduled for Sept. 28 on the criminal sexual conduct charges.
