Police: Three people dead after shooting in Clio

CLIO, Mich. (WNEM) - Two men and a woman are dead this morning after a domestic dispute and shooting in Clio on Tuesday night, March 26.

Clio police said at around 7:35 p.m., officers and Genesee County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 600 block of N. Mill Street for shots fired and a domestic dispute.

When law enforcement arrived, they found a woman victim on the steps of an apartment building but were also met with a man wielding a shotgun. The man walked into the road and fired at responding officers, according to police.

Police fired back at the suspect and he was hit during the exchange. He was treated at the scene and then taken to a local hospital where he later died, police said.

The woman died at the scene. Police found another man inside the apartment during a sweep, also pronounced dead at the scene.

No officers or anyone else was injured, and there is no active threat to the community.

The investigation is being conducted jointly by the Clio Police Department, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, and Michigan State Police. The identities of the individuals involved are pending.
