K9 Cinemas

(Meredith) - Few things in life compare to snuggling up with your four-legged friend while watching a movie or TV show.

Now, moviegoers in the Longhorn state can get that same experience at an actual movie theater.

K9 Cinemas in Plano, Texas, is a dog-friendly theater that allows customers to watch older films with up to two of their fur babies.

"We have a big heart for the furry family members in our lives, and believe they should get a night out with you," the K9 Cinemas website says.

Not to mention, the theater also offers bottomless wine with the purchase of a $15 adult ticket. Visitors under 21 can enjoy free soft drinks.

Dog owners must follow a few rules, like cleaning up after their pets and providing valid paperwork to prove their dogs are up to date on all of their shots.

The theater, which opened in 2018, doesn't show any newly-released films -- but it does host themed-event nights. Visitors can look forward to "Bring Your Dog to Church Night" on Tuesdays and "Karaoke Margarita Night" on Wednesdays.

Eric Lankford founded K9 Cinemas after leaving the pharmaceutical industry, KDFW-TV reported.

“I wanted to do something that made me happy for once instead of just chasing money,” he told the station.

The theater is currently transitioning to a members-only facility, open Monday through Saturday.
