There were 198 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Michigan on Saturday.
As of June 12, there were a total of 892,131 confirmed cases with 19,540 deaths.
There were 198 new confirmed cases and 53 new deaths since Friday. Of those deaths, 50 were identified during a Vital Records review.
For most people, the coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks. Older adults and people with existing health problems are among those particularly susceptible to more severe illness, including pneumonia. The vast majority of people recover.
As of June 6, the state is reporting 837,864 people have recovered.
